What is your degree subject?: Social Care & Criminal Justice

Does ‘Being Bad’ relate well to the other modules you are taking?: It doesnt really link well with any particular module, i think being bad was more of an everyday topic that everyone could relate to and there was never a right answer for anything that was talked about. I suppose it could fit in with criminal justice a little, because of peoples different behaviour and why they commit crime.

If so, how? And if not, why not?: It was more about peoples opinions about things in life and not actual facts like the other modules.

Have you found ‘Being Bad’ too demanding, too easy, or at an appropriate level?: It has just been appropriate for me, at first i thought it was going to be easy but then when i had to do the assignments it got more difficult but not hard.

Do you think the list of topics covered on the module was appropriate?: Yes,definately. Some of the topics were rude and ugh! It was good hearing other students views on the topics.

Are there any topics not included in the module that you would like to see included?: I think what was covered in the module was appropriate and i wouldnt change any, but i would prehaps add some up to date topics such as gun crime, single parenthood, things that people are going through.

Do you think that the format for classes has worked well?: Yes, it was good in the big lecture room and the presentations presented by the lecturers were also good.

What did you think of the module team?: I think all the lecturers were good and all had a sense of humor but some talked really quiet considering it was such a big lecture room. When you cant hear the lecturer you turn off, well i do.

Do you think it would have been better to have had more:
Small group discussions? Yes sometimes

Discussion and debate among the class as a whole? This is what we did a lot of and i enjoyed this as we got to hear views from a lot of people.

Information and talk from lecturers? I like to hear the facts from the lecturers and thats it.

The approach taken in the module is interdisciplinary (drawing on perspectives from English Literature, Film Studies, Creative Writing, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Media Studies and Politics): do you think this a useful way of approaching the topics covered in the module?: I believe it is a good way of approaching the topics as all the different perspectives can be looked upon.

Do you think that interdisciplinary modules are a good idea?: Yes

Do you think you have benefited from the interdisciplinary approach taken in the module?: I think i have benefitted from this type of approach, because ie now seen things in different perspectives.

Would you like to see more modules that cover this kind of subject matter?: I think i would as its nice to go through everday things and discuss them with other people and discuss why people think they happen and how society looks at things.

Are you planning to take the follow-up module PH2004 ‘It Shouldn’t Be Allowed’ at level 2?
I havent looked at the modules yet but when i do i'll definately consider it.

Would you recommend ‘Being Bad’ to a friend?: Yeh of course.

Do you think that the blogs (web logs) were a good idea?: I enjoyed doing the blogs, it was good researching some of the topics on the net.

What did you think of the other assessments (e.g. would it be better to have one longer assessment rather than two shorter ones?)?: I like havin too shorter ones, its not so much stress, especially with all the other modules work thats got to be in, the short ones are just fine. I did a short story, really enjoyed writing it, the rationale was just confusing though.

What have you learned from the module?: I learned that all the time i say friggin hell and my teacher at school used to tell me off that it actually meant masturbating.

What parts of the module have you found most useful and why?: All of it was useful because i learnt words and things that i always say but never had a clue what they actually meant, so this module has changed my vocabularly.

What parts do you think were a waste of time and why?: None of it was a waste of time.

Are there any other comments you wish to make regarding ‘Being Bad’?: Nope.

Depression!!!

Depression is looked upon in many ways, some people think that depression is a form of madness when it isnt. A lot of people suffer from depression especially woman after they have had children. Depression semms to be turning into a common thing as more people are stating to come out about it and admitting that something is wrong with them, whereas before lots of people would keep things to themselves and their problems would never be resolved. You dont have to have someting wrong with you or an event in your thats causing stress to make you depressed, things like that can just trigger it off, depression can come out the blue and effect anyone. Lying!!!

Is lying a good thing or a bad thing? I always find myself lying dont know why but i do, i never tell serious lies just little white lies. Other people see lying as a serious thing and CLAIM they never lie! WHATEVER! Everybody lies, and if you say you dont no doubt your lying! Lies sometimes hurt people when the truth actually comes out and other times people lie so they dont hurt people, the truth can sometimes be more damaging. Eventhough i find myself lying, i hate when people lie to me.

Sexually Transmitted Infections!!!

Everybody likes sex but nobody likes the problems it can cause. Such as pregnancies and STIs. STIs are on the increase, its gross! People need to be more careful and use condoms. People also need to know that you cant trust anybody, even if you've been with your partner for a long time does not mean that they haven't slept with someone else and caught something. There are loads of different family planning clinics where you can go to get tested or even get condoms, and remember your doctors is also confidential so your parents wouldn't know a thing!

Too Religious!!!

Religion is a mad thing, well thats how i look at it! I think that when people are too religious their just mad, get a life. ok if people want to believe in certain things then so be it but have a break dont take it too far and definately dont push it on other people. Theres nothing more annoying than an over religious person trying to push a religion on you. What i cant understand is how people can be too relgious and believe things so much when there is no proof or visible evidence its crazy, im not against religion but im just not sure what i believe in. As i've got older i've started to look at things in different perspectives and question everything and as far as im concerned you either believe in religion or science and for me science is proving to have a lot more happening.

Tattoos and body piercing!!!

I have body piercings but no tattoos, not because i dont like them but because i am scared of the needles! i think tattoos can look nice, some people do go over the top and cover their body with them i dont think that's necessary. Piercings you can take out and yeh it will leave you with a tiny scar but tattoos are a whole different thing as you cant get rid of them! if i was to go and get a tattoo it will have to be in relation to something thats really important to me, seeming as its going to be on my body for the rest of my life. So many people get tattoos when their young and then hate it when they get older, forget that id rather keep my plain and simple skin.

Infidelity!!!

Why do people cheat on their partners or betray their friends? Everyone does it at some point in their life dont they? Some people betray for the good of a loved one, they have to lie to keep them happy, but thats still betraying as that person would expect you to tell them the truth at all times.

Infidelity can hurt a lot of people and destroy Families causing divorce and heartbreak. People have different reasons for why they choose to betray their loved ones, even though it is betrayal against one person it is pleasure for another. Betrayal is a hard thing to understand because why betray the people you love? If you love them why lie? But then again betrayal can only happen if you love!!!

Masturbation!!!

Thats enough to put anyone off but it wasn't true then and definately isnt true now. People masturbate for comfort, plearsure or maybe just out of boredom, some people masturbate with their partner as part of their foreplay. It is done for many different reasons and is not a bad thing to do, although people see it as bad! It is not a hot topic that you would talk about over the dinner table, its a private and personal thing! So keep it to yourself!!!

Why Smoke?

Is smoking BAD? If its so BAD why are cigarettes sold, if its so BAD why are people not punished? Smoking isn't BAD, its just a BAD habit!
I don't think smoking is cool, i don't think it looks cool! But still i smoke along with millions of other people.
But WHY
Why smoke when you know its bad for you and can be the cause of your death, it doesn't make any sense. Why waste all that money on fags, killing yourself, you may as well hire a hit man to get the job over and done with!!!
What are us smokers going to do when the smoking ban completely takes over? Are we going to stop smoking? Err... doubt it! So what are we going to do, will smoking be seen as bad then because its not so public, will people be punished if they dont abide by the ban?
Maybe we might cut down on the fags, seeming as we cant smoke them anywhere! Maybe the ban isnt such a bad thing, afterall its for our own good!!!
